Notes
Mahenge spinel has a brilliance no ruby can match, because spinel is singly refractive and returns light cleanly. This cushion is the hot pinkish red the 2007 find made famous, with no grey at all. Spinel is never heated, so the question of treatment does not arise. It wants rose gold.
