Notes
A cushion of unusual depth for a Ceylon stone, with the saturated, slightly violetish blue that GRS writes as royal blue. Under daylight it holds its colour to the very edge of the girdle; there is no windowing. The silk is fine and evenly dispersed, which is what gives the velvet. We would set it high, in four claws of yellow gold, so the pavilion takes light from below.
